The Explorers Club dates to 1904 when a group of men interested in exploration cooked up the idea at a Manhattan dinner. Famous member expeditions have included Robert Peary’s to the North Pole, Roald Amundsen’s to the South Pole, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay to the peak of Mount Everest, astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins to the moon.
Teddy Roosevelt was a member, and more recently Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk have joined.
Fortunately, Yuri Sanada is a member of the New York Explorers Club and through his good offices Heartland Research has reserved Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023. On that day in one of the world’s leading cities we will join forces with government and civic leaders from Tunisia and Morocco for a presentation of our plans for the Phoenician Ship Museum in Montrose, Iowa.
