Native American Symbol
The circle has always been an important symbol to the American Indian -
It represents the sun, the moon, the cycles of the seasons, and the cycle of life to death to rebirth.
The fire is usually built in a circle
The teepee, hogan, chickee, round house, wigwam and council house are shaped in circles.
Within a circle there are no divisions.
During ceremony or council all may stand or sit in a circle.
In a circle we are All One
When in the circle
No one is front,
No one is behind,
No one is above and
No one is below.
